# Why does the client pay Enfonica, not the agency?

**Short answer:** The client pays Enfonica directly so that the agency carries no phone costs or credit risk and has nothing to rebill. The client pays by card for its plan and anything beyond it, and gets 10% off for signing up through the agency.

**Applies to:** Agency accounts, Billing

## How does billing work with an agency?

You send your client a quote from the Enfonica Console. When the client accepts it, they enter their own card at checkout and become Enfonica's customer: the account, the phone numbers and the subscription are theirs. Each month, Enfonica charges the client's card for the plan and anything beyond it.

Your team gets access to the client's account through your agency, so you set up and run the tracking for them. You charge the client for your own services, separately.

## Why is it set up this way?

- **No cost or risk for the agency.** You don't pay for phone numbers or calls, so a client who pays late or leaves never leaves you with a bill.
- **No rebilling.** There are no usage charges to reconcile and pass on each month.
- **Clear for the client.** The client sees exactly what they pay for, and you're paid for your expertise rather than for phone lines.

## What does the client get for signing up through an agency?

A 10% discount on the subscription, for as long as the subscription lasts. It's shown on the quote, and it stays even if the client later removes the agency.

## What if the client's payment fails?

Stripe, our payment provider, emails the client and retries the card. The person at your agency who created the quote is emailed too, so you can follow up. To learn more, see [Your Call Tracking service is paused](/help/billing/service-paused).
