Google Analytics
The Missing Piece of Analytics
If your phone calls aren't in Google Analytics, they don't exist. Complete your analytics picture.
See the Full Picture
Combine "Form Submit" and "Phone Call" into a single "Total Leads" metric. No more switching between platforms.
Compare Channels
See if "Organic Search" drives more calls than "Paid Search." Use Google Analytics attribution models to understand the full journey.
Build Audiences
Create retargeting audiences based on high-value callers. Use AI Call Insights intent tags to segment qualified leads.
How It Works
From Call to Google Analytics Event
Use Enfonica's server-side integration to push phone events directly into Google Analytics 4.
Call Completes
A customer calls your business and has a real conversation.
We verify the call is answered and meets your quality thresholds (e.g., >60 seconds).
Event Fires
Our system prepares a phone_call event with full context.
Includes duration, source/medium, UTM parameters, and AI intent tags (if enabled).
Data Sent to GA4
We send the event to Google Analytics via Measurement Protocol.
Server-side integration ensures 100% reliability - no ad blockers, no failures.
Attribution Complete
The call appears in GA4, attributed to the original web session.
View phone leads alongside form fills in a single source of truth.
Implementation Details
Built for reliability and precision.
Server-Side Reliability
We use the Google Analytics Measurement Protocol to send events directly from our servers to Google.
Why? Client-side scripts (JavaScript) can be blocked by ad blockers or fail on mobile devices. Server-side events are 100% reliable.
The Event: phone_call
We send a standard event structure:
- •Event Name:
phone_call - •Parameter:
connected_duration_seconds - •Parameter:
source,medium,campaign - •Parameter:
intent_qualified(requires AI Call Insights)
Session Stitching
Where possible, we capture the ga_session_id from the user's cookie.
This allows Google Analytics to "stitch" the phone call back to the user's web session, attributing the conversion to the correct source/medium automatically.
FAQ
Got Questions?
Everything you need to know about events, session stitching, and data accuracy.
Will I see missed calls in Google Analytics?
By default, no. We only send phone_call events for connected calls to keep your conversion data clean. Missed calls are tracked in the Enfonica portal.
Do I need Google Tag Manager (GTM)?
You don't need it for the integration to work, but we recommend installing our tracking script via GTM for the best control and session stitching accuracy.
Why is there a delay in standard reports?
Realtime reports show events instantly. However, standard Google Analytics reports (like User Acquisition) can take 24-48 hours to process data. This is a Google Analytics limitation, not an Enfonica one.
What if session stitching fails?
If we can't capture the ga_session_id, we still send the event with full attribution context. Google Analytics will show the event, but may not link it to the exact session.
Can I use this data for custom reports?
Absolutely. Once phone_call events are in Google Analytics, you can use them in Explorations, build custom dimensions, create conversion goals, and export to BigQuery.
Can I report on AI intent tags in GA4?
Yes. With AI Call Insights enabled, every call's labels are sent on the event as parameters, so you can mark "Qualified Lead" calls as a GA4 conversion, build audiences on them, and report on them alongside your web events.
