Tracking numbers¶
Call Tracking uses two kinds of tracking number. Both forward calls to the destination you choose and log every call, but they attribute calls differently.
| Number pool | Static tracking number | |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Website visitors. The script swaps the number on the page for each visitor. | One source that isn't a web page: print, radio, TV, direct mail, a Google Business Profile listing, an email signature, a directory. |
| Attribution | Linked to the visitor's session: landing page, referrer, UTM parameters, click IDs. Has a confidence level. | Fixed campaign, medium, source and content that you set on the number. No confidence level. |
| Configured | Per pool: rules, routing and recording apply to every number in the pool. | Per number. |
| Sent to Google Ads and Meta Ads | Yes, when the session has a click ID. | No. Static calls have no click ID. |
| Add | Create a number pool and its rules, then Add numbers to a pool. | Add a static tracking number. |
Australian number types¶
| Type | Format | What the caller pays | Use it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local | 02, 03, 07 or 08 area code |
A local call | The business serves one area and wants to look local. You can choose the city or zone when ordering. |
| 1300 (shared rate) | 1300 xxx xxx |
The cost of a local call from anywhere in Australia | The business serves the whole country. |
| 1800 (toll free) | 1800 xxx xxx |
Nothing | The business wants callers to pay nothing. |
Mobile numbers and numbers outside Australia aren't available in Call Tracking.
What's included in your plan¶
Each plan includes phone numbers each month: 2 on Starter, 5 on Growth and 10 on Pro. Numbers beyond that are billed monthly per number. 1300 and 1800 numbers cancelled within 12 months incur an early exit fee. See Manage billing and your plan for current fees.
Enterprise accounts
There is no plan inclusion. Numbers are billed on your Enfonica account at your account's rates. See Two kinds of accounts.
Regulatory listings¶
Every number is registered to a business name and Australian address, called a regulatory listing. A tracking site must have a listing before numbers can be ordered for it. See Regulatory listings for Australian numbers.
Inventory¶
Numbers belong to the project. When you remove a number from a pool or delete a static number, you can keep the number in the project's inventory and add it somewhere else later, or release it.
Bring your own number¶
To use a number the business already owns as a tracking number, the number has to be ported to Enfonica. Porting is handled by Enfonica support. Contact support through the contact page with the number and the current provider.
Enterprise accounts
Tenant administrators can raise the port themselves under Port in requests in the tenant admin area. See Two kinds of accounts.
