Create a tracking site¶
A tracking site represents one website. It holds the website's number pools, static numbers, routing and recording defaults, integrations and email reports, and it has its own tracking code.
Enterprise accounts
Creating a site in the Console is available in enterprise accounts, where the project also has Communications Cloud. A Call Tracking account gets its site when the quote is accepted, with the client's website domain, forwarding number and regulatory listing filled in. To track another website for that client, send a new quote. See Two kinds of accounts.
Before you begin¶
- The project has Communications Cloud enabled, so Create New Site appears in the sidebar.
- You have the Owner or Editor role in the project.
- You know the website's domain, for example
www.example.com. - You know where calls should forward to.
- The project has a regulatory listing for the business that will own the numbers. Create one under Phone Numbers > Regulatory listings if none exists.
Create the site¶
- In the Enfonica Console, open the project and click Create New Site.
- In Display name, enter a name for the website, such as
Main website. - In Allowed domains, enter each hostname the tracking script will run on, such as
example.comandwww.example.com, and click Add after each. The script does nothing on domains that aren't listed. - Under Incoming call handlers, add at least one handler. A phone number is the simplest choice. See Route incoming calls.
- In Regulatory listing, select the listing for the business.
- Click the create button.
The Console shows "Tracking site created." and opens the site's overview. The site is active.
What's next¶
- Create a number pool and its rules.
- Install the tracking script.
- Manage site settings to set recording defaults or pause the site.
